THINK INK ‘and a bit more’

‘An Investigation into Mark Making’

With Pambula based Mixed Media Artist LORNA CRANE

Date: Saturday 16th / Sunday 17th May 2020

Venue: 8-10 Russell Drysdale Street,

East Gosford (rear of the Lions Club Hall)

Time: 10:00 to 16:00 each day

Dare to be different by creating your own set of handmade brushes and explore mark making with a fresh and exciting approach in a variety of mediums.

Break out of your comfort zone to question and define your intuitive self with an experimental approach through guided exercises with ink on paper. This workshop will be an opportunity to discover the spaces in between our thoughts - ‘the thinking and the non thinking spaces that speak of the breath in between’.

The Workshop Outline

  • Hand Made Brushes and Mark Making

The morning session involves creating your own set of unique handmade brushes specifically designed for mark-making with ink.

In the afternoon session there will be a series of guided mark making exercises where each participant will discover more about their own visual language with a fresh gestural approach.

  • Artist Books ‘of this time and place’

The morning session will include further investigation through mark making using layers of under drawing and over drawing with the techniques of deconstruction and reconstructed collage pieces onto paper in a variety of mediums.

The afternoon session includes making a variety of artist books themed as a memory ‘of this time and place’ using your collection of works on paper produced over the weekend.

Suitable for all skill levels.
