Event description

Description

The Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Martin Haese, invites you to a relaxed Sunday morning stroll through the wonderful Adelaide Park Lands. Guests will explore the beautifully contrasting landscapes of Veale Gardens / Walyu Yarta and Golden Wattle Park / Mirnu Wirra.

During the walk, we will visit the new Adelaide-Qingdao Rose Garden, stop by the lively Community Garden and discover native vegetation that remains in the area.

We will be joined by Tamaru, a Kaurna guide, who will show us how to construct a Wiltja, a traditional shelter. He will also provide insights into the culture of the Kaurna people, who are the traditional owners and custodians of the Adelaide Plains.

On this occasion, the walk commences in the car park at the rear of the Adelaide Pavilion in Veale Gardens, off South Terrace. On our return, morning tea will be provided at the Pavilion.
