The Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Martin Haese, invites you to a relaxed Sunday morning stroll through the wonderful Adelaide Park Lands. To coincide with History Festival, this walk will focus on the complex past of Bonython Park / Tulya Wardli and Golf Course.

During the walk, we will visit the sites of the old slaughter house and the first state hanging. We will be joined by historian, Rhondda Harris and Kaurna Elder, Uncle Lewis Yerloburka O’Brien who will discuss the past uses of the park and the significance of the land to the Aboriginal community.

On this occasion, the walk commences and concludes at the kiosk in Bonython Park (enter from Port Road). Guests will walk upstream along the River Torrens to the Weir and across into the Golf Course. On our return, we’ll enjoy a hot coffee from a pop-up coffee cart. This event is free, but bookings are essential.

The next Lord Mayor's Park Lands Ramble will take place on August 26 - you can book ahead here.
