Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts - Beyond the Blue Horizon
Event Information
About this Event
After The Monkees disbanded, the early 1970s saw Mike Nesmith set off down his unique musical path, giving us some of the 'smartest songs ever penned about cows, break-ups, and broken-down Chevys'. Joanne (who famously lived in a meadow by a pond!), Linda Ronstadt's Different Drum, Listen to the Band, and Rio became huge AM Radio hits, and cemented Nesmith as a songwriter with a singular take on the minutiae of life. In Beyond The Blue Horizon, love, friendship, boredom and shenanigans are enveloped in his quirky country-rock embrace, and served up by a superb band for your listening pleasure, and pleasant bemusement.
Doors will open at 11am with concert starting at 12pm.
