Artist talk and shell necklacing workshop

Friday 2 March, 11am–3.30pm (11am–11.45am artist talk at MPRG; 11.45am–12.15pm morning tea; 12.30pm–3.30pm workshop at Baluk Arts)

Venue: Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery for talk, Baluk Arts Studio (Mornington) for workshop

Cost: M $45 G $55, includes morning tea, workshop and materials* or artist talk and morning tea only M $12 G $15

Nationally acclaimed artist Lola Greeno champions the traditions and culture of the Indigenous women of Tasmania’s Cape Barren and Flinders Islands and the long-lasting significance of their shell necklaces. Join Lola at the Gallery for a wonderful insight into the Cultural Jewels exhibition and the resulting connectedness established with her island home. After morning tea attend a 3-hour shell necklacing workshop at nearby Baluk Arts which will be facilitated by indigenous Baluk artists with Lola in attendance.

* Bring your own special shells if you wish to use your own.
