About this event

In the past year, the Victorian Government has established two significant initiatives aimed at ensuring Victorian business and employees benefit from the government’s record investment: the Local Jobs First Policy and the Social Procurement Framework.

In August 2018, the Local Jobs First Policy became law and the Victorian Government released the Local Jobs First Policy, Agency and Supplier Guidelines in October. Its implementation is supported by the Office of Industry Participation and Jobs (OIPJ) - based within the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR).

The Social Procurement Framework was established in April 2018 as a whole-of-government approach to generate social value above and beyond the value of goods, services or construction procured by the Victorian Government. It is the dual responsibility of DJPR and the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF).

DJPR is hosting several information sessions to help suppliers as they implement the Local Jobs First and the Social Procurement Framework. These info sessions are open to all those involved or want to be involved with businesses that supply to government projects, with afternoon tea provided.

Come along and hear from the Office of Industry Participation and Jobs, the Local Jobs First Commissioner Don Matthews, the Industry Capability Network, representatives from the Victorian Government discussing the Social Procurement Framework, and Tom Ingham, DJPR's Procurement Director.

We hope to see you there!
