This interactive session is designed to give participants the opportunity to explore the structure and data within the Gradebook of a subject or community in the Canvas LMS. The Gradebook contains student details, assignment marks and feedback, and calculations based on weighted assignment groups. In this workshop we will explore various Canvas gradebook settings and functionality to streamline marking activities, and discuss strategies for reviewing and interpreting gradebook data, and troubleshooting gradebook issues.

Topics covered in this webinar include:

  • Organising assignments and assignment groups
  • Assignment group weightings and gradebook calculations
  • Tips and tricks for managing marking
  • Identifying and addressing incomplete marking records
  • Downloading gradebook data to prepare results

The intended learning outcomes of this webinar are:

  • Understand the link between assignments, assignment groups and the gradebook
  • Locate and update incomplete marks
  • Understand how to interpret gradebook downloads
  • Troubleshoot inconsistencies between Assignments and the gradebook
