2019 Presentation
Measuring Risk Perceptions across 200 Years
Traditional methods of measuring risk perceptions – focus groups and surveys – are inadequate to analyse evolving risk narratives historically (e.g. over 200 years), and prospectively, in real-time. This oration highlights key research developments at the LRF Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk in Singapore, using AI to distil societal narratives of risk through analysing billions of words and using innovative art to visualise and communicate science for public engagement.
Presented by: Dr Reuben Ng, LRF Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk & Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore
