Living with dementia program by Dementia Australia. Suitable for: People living with dementia and their family carers and family members.

About this Event

This program provides an overview of dementia and how to proceed after a diagnosis including coping with change, relationships and communication, planning for the future and staying healthy.

This program will run across seven consecutive Wednesdays, 2.5 hours per session.

Dementia Australia's facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. These sessions are delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.

Suitable for: People living with dementia and their family carers and family members. This program is not suitable for professionals employed in the health or aged care sectors

FAQs

How will I know the program is suitable?

Once you register our facilitators will contact you to discuss whether the program will be suitable for you.

Protecting participant health and well being is fundamental for Dementia Australia. The group size will be limited to maintain social distancing.

Please read and abide by the COVID-19 Precautions for attendees listed:

  1. Please DO NOT attend the session if you are feeling unwell in any way.
  2. Wash your hands before the session
  3. Use the hand sanitiser provided as you enter and exit the building/classroom.
  4. Bring a pen if you have one
  5. Do not share pens or paperwork
  6. Cough/Sneeze into your elbow and try not to touch your face
  7. Avoid close contact to others and sit at least 1.5m apart.

Each participants will be required to complete a Covid19 symptom checker form prior to the session.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Limited parking onsite . The most convenient parking for the centre is via the Frederick St carpark entrance to Charlestown Square. 3hrs free parking available at Charlestown Square. Alternately, public transport (bus) and taxi options are available to get to the venue.

 Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is ideal if you can bring your ticket. However, if you have completed your registration we will have your details and forgetting your ticket won’t be a problem.
