What's it About?

As a Vocational Education and Training Industry Advisory Organisation (VETIAO), the Health and Community Services Workforce Council (Workforce Council) provides advice to the Department of Education and Training (DET) on Vocational Education and Training (VET) investment for the health and community services industries.

In this role, we work closely with health and community services to assist in identifying solutions to workforce issues, and the need and demand for ongoing training across the industries.

This forum brings together stakeholders at all levels to broadly consider the concept of quality training delivery across a number of focus areas.  We will discuss:

  • Quality Training in Early Education and Care:

o   A panel discussion considering Vocational Education and Training quality from a range of perspectives.

  • Current VET offerings and how they may be enhanced for better uptake:

o   Team Leaders Skills Set

o   Inclusive Practice Skills Set

o   Child Protection Skills Set

  • Growing our future workforce:

o    Student placements, traineeships and apprentices

  • What are the ‘hot’ issues in the ECEC VET delivery space?

o   Mandatory reporting in Child Protection

o   Other issues as identified by YOU!

  • Innovative Approaches to Assessment & Learning:

o   Weaving Theory & Practice – Assessing and Learning in the Early Years

o   Mentoring & Coaching, and others identified by YOU!

Join us... if you work in Early Childhood Education and Care at any level, if you’re an RTO, a training provider or a peak body representative who wishes to have a say in regards to quality vocational education and training delivery in Queensland

Speakers... This forum will be facilitated by the Workforce Council team, we will be joined by representatives from ACECQA, the Department of Education and Training Queensland, Skills IQ, Jobs Queensland, Registered Training Organisations and sector representatives.
