Event description

Description

To launch into National Science Week 2017, City Libraries are excited to be hosting astronomer, astrophysicist, and one of Australia's Science Superheroes, Associate Professor Alan Duffy. Dr Alan Duffy will be presenting a special 'Luminary Lecture' for August, 'Life, the Universe, and Everything (we can't see)'.

Do you ever wonder if we're alone or if life is out there? How stars and galaxies like our Milky Way form? Or even what the mysterious dark matter is that holds our galaxy together? Associate Professor Alan Duffy will explain the work that he and colleagues at Swinburne University are undertaking to answer those questions and more.

Doors open from 6pm for a 6.30pm start. The lecture will be followed by a Question and Answer session from 7.30pm - 8pm.
