"The underlying thread to the social history was that life here was so intimately linked with the landscape, with its ever-present sand and wind, and with the proximity of the Bend to a growing capital city".

A talk by Dr. Helen Doyle historian and author on aspects of the social history of Fishermans Bend's and her recent publication, Life on the Bend : A Social History of Fishermans Bend, Melbourne, published by Context Pty Ltd. for the Fishermans Bend Task Force, Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning, 2017.
