Life Drawing with Studio Maverik

Are you looking to try a Meanjin / Brisbane Life Drawing session? Studio Maverik runs inclusive, beginner-friendly life drawing classes.

Life Drawing involves drawing a live, often nude model. Life Drawing has been a pivotal creative practice throughout Art History. Here at Studio Maverik, we take this tradition and facilitate a contemporary space for all people to enjoy making, sketching and socialising. We work to create a safe environment where both beginners and experienced artists alike can enjoy a session of Life Drawing in Brisbane.

Our Brisbane Life Drawing and sessions are self-guided and facilitated by two local artists, Frances & Rhianna. Guided Classes and other workshops are run by local creatives, and Frances & Rhianna. All experience levels are warmly welcomed and encouraged!

Held at the incredible Arts Venue – The Station (16 School St, Fortitude Valley).

• $25 general | $20 student/concession (ID required)
• Basic drawing materials provided & BYO additional materials
• Poses range from 1-minute warm-ups to 15-minute studies
• BYO sips (including alcohol)
• Doors will open at 6:10pm / please arrive 10 minutes early to set up
• Street parking available
• Self-guided class, with support from Frances & Rhianna

Cancellation policy

We have a strict cancellation policy that requires you to request a refund more than 24 hours before an event. You can request a refund via your appointment email to open up the spot for another drawer at least 1 day beforehand. We cannot swap your ticket for another date.

Further class details

Please keep your phone away while the model is posing, but you're welcome to use it during the break.

The venue is wheelchair accessible, however the bathroom is not accessible by wheelchair. Please reach out with any questions about accessibility.

If you choose to work with wet mediums such as ink or paint we require you to come prepared with a floor cover, cleaning materials (such as a rag) and to take responsibility to prevent spillage/clean up any mess. Thank you for your understanding.
