LGBTIQA+ Inclusion in Schools - Wimmera South West (Online)
Overview
This training will include advice, information and discussions with the aim of increasing your knowledge and confidence in supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, queer and questioning, and asexual (LGBTIQA+) students. You will leave with a better understanding of the experiences of LGBTIQA+ students as well as practical strategies to create safe and inclusive environments for all students, including LGBTIQA+ students, at your school.
Some of the topics that will be covered include:
- Sex, gender and sexuality
- Responding to discriminatory language
- Responding to disclosures
- Schools' legal obligations
- Supporting a student affirming their gender
- Intersectionality
- Strategies to implement in your school
Attendance is free with CRT reimbursements available to government schools.
