Description

Everyone has the right to feel safe and secure, and home is critical to that. As part of DELWP's Place of Pride will be hosting an honest panel discussion about homelessness and how it affects the LGBTI community.

Speakers:

Tony Keenan has held the position of Launch Housing Chief Executive since 2006. He also serves as Chairperson of the Australian Foyer Foundation, a not for profit foundation established to promote the development of youth foyers as a means to re-engage young homeless people in education and employment.

Irene Tomaszewski is the Assistant Director of Homelessness and Accommodation Support at the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.

Ruth McNair is actively involved in LGBTI policy and community development, including roles as chairperson on each of the Victorian Ministerial Advisory Committees on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Health and Wellbeing. Ruth is the current co-chair of the Health & Human Services Working Group , a working group of the Victorian Government's LGBTI Taskforce.

DELWP will also be delivering funds raised on IDAHOBIT to Launch Housing, and will be collecting donations on the day for the Gay and Lesbian Foundation of Australia.

Light refreshments to be served after.
