Overview

Not everything you read can be trusted, let us help your students tell fact from fiction.

Not everything you read can be trusted, let us help your students tell fact from fiction.

In this workshop, students will learn how to apply the P.A.R.T.Y. test to confidently navigate today’s information-rich world. Through interactive activities, they will develop critical thinking skills, analyse news, advertisements, and websites, and learn how to scrutinise sources to separate fact from fiction.

The P.A.R.T.Y. test helps students evaluate information by considering:

Purpose: why was this content created?
Author: who created it and are they credible?
References: are there reliable sources to support it?
Time: is the information current and relevant?
You: does this align with what you already know or need?

Workshop notes:

· This session is delivered via Microsoft Teams.

· This session is a multi-school event, open to all schools for registration.

· A student worksheet will be sent to teachers to use during the workshop.

· Bookings for these workshops close 30 minutes before the event.
