It's easy to protect what we love so let's inspire the kids to start building a deeper relationship with the ocean and look beyond it's beautiful blue surface. The incursion I’m offering is truly unique, it comes from my heart and a lifetime of experience.

I started my business, No Ripples in 2015 with a sole mission to connect the kids to the ocean and to inspire them to look after it. I lead by example in my own family. My children are 4,4 and 6 years old, we pick up rubbish at the beach and at home we try to conserve energy and use as little plastics as possible.

I feel fortunate enough to have seen beauties of the ocean around the world but I've also seen the coral bleaching and plastic pollution. Let's inspire our kids to stand up for the ocean and for the environment.

ABOUT:

June, being the month when we celebrate the World Oceans Day, is the perfect time to bring the mermaid magic straight into your pre-school.

Children discover fun facts about the world's oceans and it's inhabitants - dolphins, blue whales, turtles and my best friends - sharks. I share my experiences of freediving in diferent parts of the world and answer the many questions the young ocean explorers may have. The children learn about the struggles of the Great Barrier Reef, plastic pollution, overfishing and we brain storm ideas on how to solve these urgent issues. Everybody will feel inspired to help the ocean by taking at least one action in every day life realising that small actions make a huge difference.

We finish the experience by applying mermaid glitter so that the kids can share their new knowledge with their parents and their siblings.

Mondays: 10am - 10:40 am ; 2pm - 2:40pm

Wednesdays: 10am - 10:40 am ; 2pm - 2:40pm

Thursdays: 10am - 10:40 am ; 2pm - 2:40pm

"Last week Michaela came to visit the children in the preschool room. It was such an amazing visit for our children, as they have been interested in learning about the oceans and Michaela touched on many ocean related topics.
Initially Michaela showed the children different images of ocean creatures, before sharing many facts relating to these creatures. Our children loved the facts she gave around the blue whale and the shark. She then showed the children how to swim like a mermaid before reinforcing the idea that we need to look after our oceans and the creatures in them, by not letting rubbish get in to our waterways.

To finish off, all the children were able to have some special mermaid glitter put on their face or hands.

We so appreciated the visit and the children absolutely loved the experience that Michaela was able to share."
