Description

Lerderderg State Park is where a myriad of tracks, gullies, creeks and ridges form a wild, rugged environment. The striking feature of this area is the 300-metre deep gorge that stretches south to the plains of Bacchus Marsh, almost bisecting the park. Our walk winds explores both the winding scenic valleys and ridgelines plus explores some every unique and interesting gold mining relics. Lerderderg State Park offers a true bush experience and walking is the best way to get to know the park - so join our experienced staff for a fully guided, enjoyable and social day out exploring some wonderful areas.

From Loh's Lane we start on the Ah Kow Track, heading down to the gorge where we walk along the riverbed, slowly scrambling over rocks. We walk upstream to McKenzie Track, where we start the gradual accent back to the cars. Passing many waterholes along the way, on a nice day you can enjoy a quick dip.

This is a 14km Grade 4 walk that will take 4-5 hours to complete. This walk involves some technical walking and requires a little more agility and stability.
