A free, public event to celebrate the life of one of Australia's great scientific minds.

About the Leon Kane-Maguire Address

Leon Kane-Maguire was one of Australia’s leading scientists, based at the University of Wollongong. Leon’s pioneering research in nanomaterials was balanced by his down-to-earth attitude and a wicked sense of humour. This annual address commemorates and celebrates Leon’s contribution to research, the building of research teams, the communication of science and the mentoring of the next generation of scientists.

Leon Kane-Maguire Student Prize

This annual prize, donated by the Kane-Maguire family, will be awarded to the highest achieving student completing an Honours degree in the University of Wollongong School of Chemistry.

Parking

There is convenient public parking available through the boom gates to your right as you enter Innovation Campus from Squires Way. The entrance to the AIIM Building is adjacent to the boom gates, There are other options for parking throughout on Innovation Campus for those with UOW parking permits, please follow signage on campus.
