Event description

Description

Dr Tony Ward is the author of an important new book on the Australian refugee debate - Bridging Troubled Waters. The book argues that while the pro-refugee-activist community have many important and valid arguments, they also have some blind spots, particularly in relation to the vexed issue of how to prevent deaths at sea. At this panel, Ward will discuss his case with three expert and outspoken refugee advocates.

Panel Includes:
Tony Ward - Fellow in Historical Studies, University of Melbourne
Julian Burnside QC - Australian barrister & Refugee Advocate
Lucy Honan - Member of Refugee Action Collective
Michelle O'Neil - ALP, Textile Clothing & Footwear Union of Australia.

Tickets - Waged $5, Unwaged $3.
