The Geoscience Australia Education Team is offering two online professional learning sessions for primary teachers.

About this Event

The Education Team is offering two professional learning sessions for middle and upper primary teachers. We aim to enhance understanding, confidence and skills in teaching Earth Science topics to middle and upper primary students. Hands-on demonstrations and inquiry activities will be introduced along with resources, including new videos, developed in recent months. Each session will be delivered via Zoom, and will run for an hour, including time for questions. Certificates of attendance will be supplied.

Wednesday 28 October 2020 Year 3/4 (Stage 2) 4:00-5:00 pm

This session will be targeted towards teaching about changes over time to the Earth’s surface as a result of natural processes. Activities will focus on practical investigations of weathering and erosion processes.

Wednesday 4 November 2020 Year 5/6 (Stage 3) 4:00-5:00 pm

This session will be focused on teaching about sudden geological changes and extreme weather events that can affect Earth’s surface. Geohazards will be the main focus.

Registrations are essential and the sessions are FREE. You are welcome to register for both sessions, you will just need to sign up for each separately.
