Learning Lounge 01, 2017: 'Communication matters' - addressing complex communication needs in the classroom

Learning Lounges are only available to students who do not have lectures at this time.
Places are limited - it is recommended that you register as soon as possible.
Participants are required to attend and sign in to receive credit for Wider Field Experience (1.5 hours in total).

'Communication matters' - addressing complex communication needs in the classroom -
All students have the right to communicate wants, needs and feelings.
This training will develop participant knowledge about accessing innovative, robust communication strategies to meet the needs of students with complex communication needs (CCN) and develop skills in implementing ACC, modelling communication strategies and devices and alternative access methods that best meet the communication needs of students in their class.
During this workshop participants will increase their knowledge of:
- the importance of communication in the educational process
- robust communication systems available to teachers
- alternative access methods

Is my registration transferrable?
As you will be receiving a Certificate of Attendance by e-mail after you have attended both workshops of the Learning Lounge, your registration is not transferrable. If any of your peers wish to register, please direct them to this registration page.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, but you will need to sign in at the door at both workshops to be able to claim Wider Field Experience credit and receive a certificate.
