Event description

Description

DecoHousing Denmark Group, in the South West of WA has been making headlines the past two years, particularly around the fact that it is the largest hempcrete project in the Southern Hemisphere.

The DecoHousing Denmark Group, a local initiative, formed its own company to build 12 state-of-the-art sustainable housing units of both 2 and 3-4 bedrooms, plus a common house. This co-housing project is just 250 meters from the centre of town. Construction was recently completed, and residents have moved in to this brand new co-housing community.

In this event we have the priviledge of welcoming two of the co-founders of DecoHousing: Paul Llewellyn and Pam Rumble. It is a unique opportunity to hear about and learn from their unique journey, the challenges, and rewards!

Our aim is that at the end you have a better understanding of what it takes to build a cohousing community.

Future events - This event is part of our Community Building & Living Series where we will learn about & from the people that made projects a reality &/or call them home. We will hear from professionals that assist groups along the way, they will share their wisdon, & inspire us to realise our own dreams. Final date to put in your diary for 2018 is 22 October.

All events are held at The Meeting Place in Fremantle, 7-9pm

This event is part of our Sustainable Community Building & Living Series.
