Event description

Description

University teachers are increasingly being encouraged to engage in design thinking when preparing educational experiences for students. Design thinking is seen as a way of generating novel educational approaches that respond to the complexity of the changing higher education environment. But what is design thinking, why is it important, and what does research tell us about the design thinking of university teachers?

These questions and more will be explored in this workshop through presentations and reflective practice activities with fellow teaching staff. Participants will have the opportunity to apply the principles of designing for learning to create a learning design map to implement in their own teaching and learning context.

PRESENTERS

Bronwyn Disseldorp, Learning Environments

Kristine Elliott, MCSHE
