Description

This workshop features a key note address by Cassandra Goldie, CEO, ACOSS, on the context of poverty in relation to learning and underlying difficulties in addressing its alleviation.

Peter Blunden, a practising consultant, will discuss his research report on a lifelong learning framework to inform the broader lifelong learning policy discussion in relation to youth and unemployment.

Max Eastcott, CEO at Shire of Gwydir, will present practical examples of his shire’s adoption of a ‘learning communities’ framework in countering unemployment and poverty.

After lunch, facilitated small groups will focus on discussing and finding solutions relevant to participant’s communities. The day will culminate in reporting back sessions and exploring general resolutions.
