Free Course for over 65s living in Eastern Adelaide
Join fitness instructor Maria Voulgarakis in this facilitator-led 6 week course in the foothills of Campbelltown and Burnside council areas.
Nordic walking was invented by Finish cross country skiers as a way to keep fit during off-season. Unlike everyday walking, Nordic walking is a total body workout, using 90% of the body's muscles, and increasing the aerobic value of walking by up to 45%. Participants will need to be able to stand and walk for approx one hour. Participants with a beginner level of fitness are more than welcome. The terrain will be mostly flat with some undulation in the later weeks of the program.
Walking poles will be provided as part of this course.
This program is reserved for people over 65 living in the below council areas:
- City of Burnside
-Campbelltown
- City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters
- City of Prospect
- City of Unley
- Town of Walkerville
Course runs for a 6 week term on Saturdays at 9am from 6th Feb to 13th March.
