Event description

Description

Would you like to learn how to write your life story or turn research on your family history into a book? If so, this is your opportunity to join a small group of like-minded people for four workshops that will teach you all the basics to get you started.

The workshops cover all the things you need to do before you start writing in earnest including working out what you're going to do, who you’re writing for, types of structure, how to access your memory, information sources and methods of organising research, formats and styles and truth versus imagination. Each workshop also provides opportunities to learn from published authors as well as to practise what is covered in each session.

Held in the Flax Room, a light and quiet room within The Leake Library, this is a relaxed atmosphere in which to learn with others. The Library has a cafe on site and basement parking is located off Leake Street.

Your ticket covers the 4 workshops on the following dates: Thursday 6th,13th, 20th and 27th July. Each workshop starts at 9.30a.m. and finishes at 12.30p.m.
