A brand new workshop!

Are you looking for a way to teach note-taking? 

Interested in blending graphic art, reading comprehension and creative thinking? 


Sketch-noting is purposeful doodling while listening or viewing. You don't need to be a graphic artist or have special drawing skills. But sketch-noting does require the ability to synthesise and summarise thinking by graphic images. Amanda will share her experiences with sketch-noting (or visual note-taking) and you'll practise some strategies to build your confidence and personal repertoire. Learn how to use text, layout, colour and imagery to take notes, remember more of what you view or listen to and synthesise ideas to deeper understandings. 

Don't worry if you think you can't draw! Sketch-noting can be learnt (by you!) - and sketch-noting can be taught to your children!

Please bring:

- one A4 sized sketchbook or visual diary (blank, no lines)
- some black fine and medium line pens

Light afternoon tea provided.

Amanda Bartram

Amanda Bartram is a passionate and innovative early years educator, who has been recognised by the Early Childhood Association of SA (EChO) at the World Teachers Day Awards in 2012.  Amanda passionately holds the view that children are competent and capable – a belief which is reflected in her daily work with children, and her work with other educators.  Just some of Amanda's areas of interest include Writer's Workshop, playful pedagogies, inquiry and creating engaging learning environments with children.
