Overview

A place to chat with the project officers from LEAP to CHECK-IN on your progress and get advise for the next steps.

Are you working through your Employment Discovery journey?
These Discovery Check-In Sessions are here to keep you supported and on track.

Each week, we create a welcoming space where you can:

  • Ask questions about your specific stage of discovery
  • Get advice and troubleshooting support from a LEAP Project Officer.
  • Share challenges and wins with others on the same path
  • Build motivation and capacity as you move forward
  • Gain helpful tips on approaching discovery networking activities
  • Become part of a network of candidates for potential future opportunites

Who are these sessions for?
These sessions are designed for people with disability who are working through the stages of Employment Discovery or wanting to get started. Support people are welcome to attend too.

What to expect:

  • Sessions are informal, supportive, and flexible
  • You’ll need to be actively working on your discovery process – we’re here to guide and encourage, but the work is yours (with your supports if needed)
  • Come along as often as you like – weekly, monthly, or whenever you need a boost

When & Where

Bookings
Booking in helps us track attendance and keep you updated if sessions change. However, drop-ins are still welcome if that works best for you. No cost.

Accessibility

Parking? - Some places may be available near the Belmont library. Be aware they are timed. Belmont Forum shopping centre is a good alternative option.

Where are sitting? - We tend to sit outside to the left of the cafe.

All team members wear a navy blue Valued Lives lanyard so you can look out for these if you don't see us.

Noise - Can be loud as we are near to the road and the cafe can get busy. We can move if this gets too much.

Weather - Dress for outdoors, some days can be very chilly.

Building is wheelchair accessible

Please reach out if you have any other accessibility concerns
