Event description
To end 2019 on a high, we're bringing our incredible community of women together to CELEBRATE THE WINS!

About this Event

We are all so busy aiming for that BIG goal, that we often forget to stop, reflect and celebrate all of the victories along the way. We'll hear from Jodie Fox, Olivia Carr, Ava Matthews and Bec Jefferd who will share how they have achieved their wins for the year (both big and small), as well as some tips and tricks on how to better enjoy the journey.

So grab your work wives, bring your bestie or gather your team to come together and celebrate with a cocktail (or two)!

When purchasing a ticket, share with us your win for the year and we'll share these on the night! 50 words or less.

JODIE FOX, AUTHOR & CO- FOUNDER OF SHOES OF PREY

Jodie was a co-founder and the creative director of Shoes of Prey. A banking and finance lawyer by trade and a dedicated creative, Fox created a perfect nexus of the corporate and creative worlds when she co-founded Shoes of Prey.

Identifying and serving a gap in the market for custom-made shoes at non-luxury prices, Shoes of Prey was considered a global leader and innovator in mass-customisation and on-demand manufacturing. A fully vertically integrated business that raised over US$27 million in funding, and with more than six million shoes designed, Shoes of Prey changed the way the retail industry thought about product and manufacturing.

Shoes of Prey ceased trading in August 2018. Now Jodie Fox is rebooting herself for her next venture.

In recognition of her work at Shoes of Prey, Fox was a judge at the World Retail Awards (2016, 2017, 2018) lectured the Stanford Graduate School of Business MBA Class (2016, 2017, 2018) and regularly keynotes events including the National Retail Federation conference (2017), Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (alongside Renzo Rosso, Nicola Formichetti and Fern Mallis) and the American Apparel and Footwear Association Executive Summit (2016).

OLIVIA CARR, FOUNDER OF SHHH SILK

In 2015, Olivia Carr, award-winning businesswoman and mother-of-two, couldn’t find high quality, stylish silk pillowcases no matter how hard she looked. Knowing the benefits of silk, and sensing a gap in the market, Olivia created luxury online-only silk company, Shhh Silk. Fast forward to 2019 and Shhh Silk is a favourite of celebrities like Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Chrissy Teigen to name a few.

AVA MATTHEWS, CO-FOUNDER OF ULTRA VIOLETTE SKINCARE

Ava has been obsessed with beauty her entire life, but officially joined the industry 13 years ago in PR, Comms and Brand Strategy working on major prestige beauty brands in Australia and the US before driving Communications and Marketing Strategy for Napoleon Perdis, then leaving Sydney to move to Melbourne to run the Mecca Cosmetica Signature Line. The universe brought her and her Ultra Violette co-founder, Bec Jefferd, together at MECCA Brands where together they launched over 300 products (including a high-performing sun care range). Following MECCA, Ava moved to RATIONALE Skincare to be their head of marketing for a year and a half before launching Ultra Violette with Bec in January of 2019. Only in its infancy, Ultra Violette is a range of facial ‘skinscreens’ that people love to wear, designed for everyday use. Ava has been told she looks five years younger than she actually is and wants to keep it that way - a driving reason for the creation of Ultra Violette.

BEC JEFFERD, CO-FOUNDER OF ULTRA VIOLETTE SKINCARE

Bec is the Co-Founder of Ultra Violette, a new type of sunscreen that launched in Australia in January 2019. Bec started her career in the oil industry as a grad for BP working in Australia, the US and the UK but found a love of the beauty industry at L’Oreal and later Mecca Brands where she met Ultra Violette business partner Ava Matthews. Most recently she was General Manager of the TOM Co who own the tooshies by TOM and TOM Organic, and she now runs Ultra Violette plus a household containing a husband and 2 sport-loving little boys.
