Here are the confirmed speakers for 2019. 

Rich Mironov | Author, Speaker, Product Guru!

Rich Mironov is a 35-year veteran of Silicon Valley tech companies. He coaches product executives and parachutes into companies as the interim VP of Product Management. Earlier, he was the 'product guy' at six tech start-ups. Rich's long-running blog covers software, start-ups, product strategies, and the inner life of product managers. He is the author of The Art of Product Management (2008) and organised the first Product Camps.

John Zeratsky | Author and Creator

John Zeratsky is the bestselling author of Sprint: How to Solve Big Problems and Test New Ideas in Just Five Days and Make Time: How to Focus on What Matters Every Day. For nearly 15 years, John was a designer for technology companies. At Google Ventures, he helped develop the design sprint process and worked with close to 200 startups, including Uber, Slack, 23andMe, Flatiron Health, One Medical Group, and Nest.

John Zeratsky is talking on: Design Sprints.

Design Sprints are a methodology of its time, to unite your team, to increase your team’s focus and reduce the risk of going down the wrong path. John Zeratsky, co-creator of Design Sprints and co-author of the book Sprint, will share why teams at Google, Slack, Uber, Airbnb, Medium, Dropbox, Facebook, McKinsey, IDEO, LEGO, the United Nations, the New York Times, and many others, are using design sprints to progress, united in the same direction. 

The big idea with the Design Sprint is to build and test a prototype in just five days, enabling you to fast-forward to see how your customers react before you invest time and expense into building a new product.

Bruce McCarthy | Author, Speaker, Founder at Product Culture

Bruce McCarthy is a serial entrepreneur, author, organizer, and speaker at product, UX, and innovation events around the world. He helps growing organizations achieve their product visions through workshops, mentoring, and team coaching. Bruce's co-wrote Product Roadmapping Relaunched: How to Set Direction While Embracing Uncertainty and opines regularly about Product Culture.

Bruce McCarthy is talking on: Developing and Communicating Strategy.

Product Strategy is all about leverage: how do you add the most value for your target customer for the least effort? How can you develop an unfair advantage over the competition? First, you develop a vision of a world that’s better for your customer with your product in it. Then, develop objectives while you pursue this vision, and prioritise, prioritise, prioritise. And let’s not forget stakeholder buy-in! Veteran product leader Bruce McCarthy will walk you through his journey as VP of Product, setting a vision, objectives, and priorities, then getting everyone on board. And he’ll share the framework so you can immediately apply this to your organisation.

Sally Foote | Product Director | Photobox Group

Sally Foote is a deeply commerical Product Director with over 20 years of tech and digital experience. She is currently leading product innovation at Photobox Group where she is responsible for new revenue lines and leads an end-to-end team who develop and launch new products.

Sally is passionate about supporting women in the digital sector and is an associate of 10 Digital Ladies, a 2000+ community of senior women working in tech in London. They hold monthly networking events and an annual awards that recongises inspring female talent.

Sally Foote is talking on: There’s a problem in the bagging area: why your customers hate your AI and what to do about it.

AI has been the most overhyped technological development in recent years. For Photobox customers, it comes on the back of years of sub-standard automations in their lives and with the brands and products they interact with. The more that other companies get these things wrong, the more sceptical our customers become when we offer to make something ‘simpler’ or ‘quicker’ or just a little bit less human for them.

Sally will share the challenges and lessons that Photobox learnt when integrating AI into their website to help customers make books, from that most human of things, photographs.

Petra Gross | GM Digital Products at WooliesX

Petra recently joined WooliesX, digital arm of Woolworths, to transform and disrupt the food and grocery market. With digital traffic growing at 50-plus percent year over year across all Woolworths online properties, Petra leads a team of Product Managers focused on innovating across these digital platforms.

During her 18 years working in Product Management Petra has held executive roles at Australian based companies, MedicalDirector, Expert360 and Carsguide. In 2018 AFR awarded MedicalDirector 2nd most innovative company in Australia, Expert360 came 5th.

She started her Product Management career in Silicon Valley holding several senior roles across various divisions within eBay Inc. before moving to take on leadership roles at Gaia Interactive, Linden Lab and One Kings Lane.

Petra has extensive experience in driving transformational change within organisations to drive efficiencies and engagement with customers. Her passion is to create experiences for customers that are connected, personalised, and convenient, through digital innovation and transformation.

Petra Gross will be talking on: The imposter within: conquering the fear of ‘not good enough.

Have you ever felt like you weren’t good enough? That your boss might tap you on the shoulder any day and let you know they made a mistake and that they really meant to hire a different candidate? Surely there’s someone better for the job than you? Is that you or the imposter talking? Imposter Syndrome is very common but rarely talked about. It can limit our courage to go after new opportunities and put ourselves out there in a meaningful way. Petra will share practical ways to move forward, deal with that anxiety, and conquer the imposter within.

Radhika Dutt | Co-founder | Radical Product Thinking movement

Radhika Dutt is currently Advisor to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (the central bank of Singapore) on applying product thinking. She is an entrepreneur and product leader who has participated in four acquisitions as a result of the products she built, two of which were of companies she founded. Radhika has built products in industries including broadcast, media and entertainment, advertising technology, government, consumer apps, robotics, nonprofits, and wine. Her journey into product leadership made her realise that “product” is a way of thinking that can be applied almost anywhere, not a job title or function. It led her to co-found Radical Product Thinking as a movement of leaders creating vision-driven change. 

Radhika Dutt is talking on: Radical Product thinking: how to iterate less and build more.

Lean Startup has led to the full-blown iteration epidemic that we’re in the midst of. Too many good products become bloated, fragmented, directionless, and driven by irrelevant metrics. They catch common product diseases even when we’re doing all the right things: iterating quickly to find product-market fit.

Radhika’s talk challenges the universal truths that we’ve learned as product leaders. We’ll talk about what Lean Startup got wrong, why this approach falls short when you want to build a Radical Product, and how you can overcome common product diseases to build successful, world-changing products.

Rod Hamilton | Co-founder & Chief Product Officer | Culture Amp

With a passion for building high-performance teams, Rod leads Culture Amp's Product delivery group of over 150 Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and everyone involved in building the world’s most impactful People & Culture Platform.

Prior to founding Culture Amp, Rod held product leadership roles at Accenture and Unico, leading teams to design and deliver enterprise systems to create globally successful organisations. When not thinking about products, Rod could be found madly riffing on his guitar, making hama beads with his daughter, or kicking the footy with his son. 

Rod Hamilton is talking on: Think like a CPO

From launching a feature through to sun-setting it; from creating a product through to killing it; from starting a company through to acquiring one. The job of a product leader is to place bets. While the bets often look similar, the stakes are constantly changing. Sometimes you’ll need to be conservative and sometimes you’ll need to bet the farm. Rod shares his experience placing product bets while growing Culture Amp from four founders to 400 campers.

Anthony Murphy | Product Coach and Consultant

Anthony Murphy is a Product Coach but simply refers to himself as a "product person". He hails from humble beginnings as an engineer before taking a complete left-turn and enlisting to become a leader in the Australian Army. After extensive leadership training at the Royal Military College Duntroon, he decided to transfer to the Army Reserves and returned to corporate life. Since then he has done everything from early-stage product discovery to pivoting products and even sunsetting them. 

As a consultant, Anthony has a track record for scaling product teams and blending agile, lean and design thinking together, into what he calls "full stack product" and, more broadly, product mindset. He helps teams, leaders and Product Managers succeed in product and is often called in at the Chief Product Officer/Head of Product level to help organisations to scale and increase their product maturity. He has a passion for teaching, helping others and building product which have a meaningful impact in the world.

Anthony Murphy is talking on 'The Evolution of Product Management: what it takes to be a great product manager in the 21st century.

Product Management is one of the most sought-after professions for MBA graduates in the USA and, although it appears relatively new, Product Management has been around for nearly 100 years! But we’re far from where it started.

Such rapid evolution of a role has left many confused, with endless debates about role definitions and responsibilities within the Product community. With the role continuing to evolve at lightning speed and becoming increasingly broad, Anthony sets out to answer the question, what does it take to become successful Product Managers of tomorrow?


Gabrielle Dolan | Speaker, Author, Trainer | Founder at Jargon Free Fridays

Gabrielle has worked with thousands of high-profile leaders from around the world and helped countless of Australia’s top 50 ASX companies and multinationals to humanise their communications - Accenture, EY, VISA, Uber, Australia Post, National Australia Bank, Amazon and International Committee Red Cross to name drop a few.

Gabrielle is also the bestselling author of Ignite: Real Leadership, Real Talk, Real Results (2015) which reached the top five on Australia’s bestselling business books. Other published books include Storytelling for Job Interviews (2016), Hooked: How Leaders Connect, Engage and Inspire with Storytelling (2013), and Stories for Work: The Essential Guide to Business Storytelling (2017). Her latest Wiley publication, Real Communication: How to be you and lead true, was published in May 2019. For Gabrielle, bringing humanity to the way business people communicate isn’t just a career, it’s a calling.

Gabrielle Dolan is talking on: Real communication, jargon and storytelling.

If you want to communicate effectively, it’s well past time we stopped using corporate jargon and excessive acronyms. Leaders need to embrace storytelling as a more effective way to communicate and understand the power of sharing personal stories to communicate business messages. Gabrielle shares what makes a story a story and how to avoid the most common mistakes when sharing stories in business.

Sarah Cummings is talking on: The ‘Get Shit Done’ process – with the right people at the right time.


If you’ve ever neared the end of a project, only to face delays or ultimate failure because you’ve missed key information or people that needed to be included in the process, then this talk is for you! Sarah will share her three-step ‘Get Shit Done’ process that guarantees you know at the beginning all the people who need to be involved, when, and how.


Julian Connor is talking on: Food trucks: the perfect minimum viable product.


We know what a minimum viable product is, although we might differ in what we believe is necessary and unnecessary to include. We need a way of making sure that the MVPs we build are truly great – such as a food truck. Julian poses the challenge that if we take the essence of what makes food trucks great and reduce this down, we end up with three questions, which Julian calls the food truck test, to ensure that your MVP you build actually does the job it's designed to do.
