Around the world, there is a global movement of Product Managers coming together to network, learn and collaborate. Leading the Product is a community event, championed by Product Managers so that we too have a place to ignite our passion for developing and managing great products and services.

The Speakers
Here are the first confirmed speakers for 2019. 

Jake Knapp | Writer, designer, person

Jake Knapp is the author of Make Time and the New York Times bestseller Sprint.

Jake spent 10 years at Google and Google Ventures, where he created the Design Sprint. He has since coached teams like Slack, Uber, 23andMe, LEGO, and The New York Times on the method.

Previously, Jake helped build products like Gmail, Google Hangouts, and Microsoft Encarta. He is currently among the world’s tallest designers.

Willy Lai | Vice President of User Experience at Macy's 

Willy Lai is an award-winning user experience design leader with over two decades at top tech companies in Silicon Valley, including Apple, Samsung, PayPal, Intuit, and eBay. 

He currently leads omnichannel user experience design as Vice President of User Experience for Macy's, and concurrently leads product design as Chief Design Officer for Haggleland.

Prior to Macy's and Haggleland, Willy held Director of User Experience Design positions for Apple's FileMaker business software and Samsung's Milk Music streaming music apps.

His designs strategically align user needs and business goals, and have garnered many industry awards, including Communication Arts, W3, and A'Design. 

Willy has given keynote UX talks and workshops worldwide.

Bruce McCarthy | Author, Speaker, Founder at Product Culture

Bruce McCarthy is a serial entrepreneur, author, organizer, and speaker at product, UX, and innovation events around the world. He helps growing organizations achieve their product visions through workshops, mentoring, and team coaching. Bruce's co-wrote Product Roadmapping Relaunched: How to Set Direction While Embracing Uncertainty and opines regularly about Product Culture.

Talk Topic: Developing & Communicating Strategy

Product Strategy is all about leverage. How do you add the most value for yoru target customer for the least effort. How do you develop an unfair advantage over the competition?

First you develop a vision of a world that's better for your custoemr with you product in it. You then develop objectives in the black while you pursue this vision, and you prioritise, prioritise, prioritise. And let's not forget stakerholder buy-in!

Veteran product leader Bruce McCarthy will walk you through his journey as VP of Product settign a vision, objectives, and priorities, then getting everyone on board. And he'll share a framework you can apply to your organisation.
