Description

We are pleased to offer free training for Leaders who directly supervise mental health Lived Experience Workforce (LEW) within NGO and Government mental health sectors.

This training is non-accredited and is based on needs identified by Managers and Leaders through training session evaluation/feedback, 2015 LEWP Training Needs Analysis, CALHN-SA Health Evaluation of the Lived Experience Workforce (2014) and the SA Health Lived Experience Workforce Project Management Consultation (2012).

Aims:

• Increase knowledge and confidence in leading and developing LEW

• Share ideas for best practice in providing leadership through an effective LEW/Leader partnership

Theme for 2017: 'Difficult Conversations'.

August 1st - 'Supervision of Lived Experience Workforce'.

Whilst this session will follow on from ideas discussed at May's workshop on Establishing the Lived Experience Role, new participants are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Through presentation and active participation, attendees will share ideas and gain an understanding of effective supervision of workers in Lived Experience-specific roles. We will explore:

  • How does supervision of LEW look within your organisation at present? (Challenges and what is working well)

  • Best practice for supervision of Lived Experience Workforce - what does this specialist skill set need and how can these needs be met effectively?

  • Models, tools and strategies that can support effective supervision of Lived Experience Workforce

All sessions are co-designed and delivered by mental health Lived Experience Workers and Leaders, from across NGO and Government sectors.
