Leading a Team
Working to lead and maintain a team who display a diverse range of personalities, backgrounds and skills can sometimes feel like a juggling act. Leaders require a range of strategies and attributes to effectively lead a staff team. In this session we will explore the qualities and benefits of an effective team, and work to identify the strategies and actions required to achieve this. We will explore the strengths and challenges of being a leader and identify skills that support both the leader and the team to achieve a collaborative, effective and quality functioning team.
Participants will have an opportunity to
- Deepen understanding of own leadership style
- Reflect on the strengths and challenges of being a leader with other sector peers
- Explore effective induction and communication strategies that support team functioning
- Identify the strategies and actions for effective ongoing team leadership
