About this event
Roger Staley is an internationally experienced senior mining, management and business professional with over 40 years of involvement in the mining industry. He has well rounded knowledge of the minerals resources industry having worked on both the ‘customer side’ of exploration and mining operations and the ‘consultancy side’ of sales and services.
Having grown up in Australia and graduated as a geologist from Sydney University, Roger lived and worked on both sides of the country before working internationally for the last 12 years. He spent his time as an expatriate in Zambia, the Republic of Congo, Dubai and Canada and has travelled extensively throughout the world on mining related business.
Roger has developed a range of expertise in leadership, management, business development, open pit mining, mine development, resource evaluation, mineral exploration, human resources and the application of technology for improvements in mining safety, efficiency and productivity. He has interacted with many stakeholders at all levels of government such as Mines Ministries, the Office of the President, State Owned Enterprises and NGOs.
In his current role as CEO of the Australia-Africa Minerals and Energy Group, Roger heads up a member based organisation devoted to helping Australian companies prosper and do the right thing in Africa.
