Pride in Diversity’s Sapphire Initiative and Out For Australia would like to invite you to an exciting event to redefine the concept of leadership by LGBTIQ+ women, generously hosted by Clayton Utz. This event is following on from our previous events: ‘Unleashing the power of mentoring for LGBTIQ+ Women’, hosted in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth, and ‘Lead and Influence: LGBTIQ+ Women Paving the Way’, hosted in Sydney.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT
Recent global social movements on gender equality highlighted the impact of passionate, considered action, regardless of whether the individuals involved were seen as leaders in the traditional sense. Our event will aim to redefine what ‘leadership’ means, and empower LGBTIQ+ women to harness their leadership potential.

The event will feature five diverse women sharing their own leadership stories in a five minute TEDx style format.

Alex Fuller

Alex Fuller is a queer woman and the Communications Director at the Australian Youth Climate Coalition.

Dr Bree Gorman

Bree Gorman is the Manager of Diversity and Inclusion Programs at Deakin University.

Chloë Bennett

Chloë Bennett is a lawyer in the Clayton Utz commercial litigation team.

Christine Samy

Christine Samy is a former health professional who currently works as a management consultant at Nous Group.

Melissa Griffiths

Melissa Griffiths is a transgender authority and advocate who lives in Melbourne.

This event is to celebrate LGBTIQ+ women, however all LGBTIQ+ people and their allies are welcome.
