Event description

Description

Phonological awareness is one of the most important aspects of literacy development in young children as it has a causal effect with later reading. Similarly, the amount of knowledge a child has about print is an important predictor of how well he or she will learn to read. This workshop will build participants' understanding of phonological awareness and print knowledge and explore practical strategies for supporting the development of these key emergent literacy skills in young children.

The first hour of this session is available for participants online and face-to-face at the Reading Centre. The second hour is for participants at the Reading Centre.
