Event description

Description

The Indian Ocean is the world’s third-largest and is a major corridor for trade and travel. As such, it is important that there are rules to govern peaceable, safe passage across the sea.

As such Deakin Law School’s Centre on the Legal Profession will conduct a series of conferences designed to examine and recommend a Code of Conduct covering trade, travel and security to ensure safe and efficient passage at all times.

We invite expressions of interest from academics, government officials, industry representatives and other interested parties who would like to join us as we examine five key themes including: Strategy and Maritime Security; Trade, Finance, Tourism and Economic Cooperation; Energy and Resource Security; Environmental Security; Human Security.
