Join us for the official launch of Startup Investing DecodEd – HealthTech!

A comprehensive series of learning modules and community events to help existing and future angel investors learn best practises and skills required to make informed HealthTech startup investment decisions.

Drinks and canapés are on us and hear from experienced investors and HealthTech ecosystem experts on the fundamentals of investing in HealthTech startups. You will also gain an insight into the Victorian HealthTech ecosystem.

Co-hosted by Artesian, Decode System and LaunchVic.

About guest speakers and panellists:

Jeremy Colless – Managing Partner of Artesian Venture Partners. Jeremy established Artesian in 2004 which has become Australia’s most active seed stage venture capital firm. Jeremy also co-founded VentureCrowd, Australia's leading equity crowdfunding platform for alternative assets, and Decode System, a data and analytics business that helps track, measure and build innovation ecosystems.

Kate Cornick – CEO, LaunchVic, Victoria’s startup agency. Kate is passionate about the role of innovation in our economy and society more broadly, and has considerable experience in technology innovation across startups, academia, corporates and government. LaunchVic is the Victorian Government's $60m initiative to accelerate startups, drive new ideas and create jobs in Victoria. LaunchVic works in partnership with entrepreneurs, industry, business, the community and educational institutions to strengthen Victoria’s entrepreneurial and startup ecosystem.

Dr. Buzz Palmer – CEO of Australia’s National MedTech Accelerator, The Actuator. Buzz is one of Australia’s leading and most visible voices in entrepreneurship and MedTech innovation with a track record of entrepreneurial success in Med and Biotech. Previously Buzz has held roles as CEO of STC Australia, Professor of Entrepreneurship at Monash University and Co-Founder of Medtech's Got Talent.

Dr. Elane Zelcer – HealthTech Angel Investor and Advisor. Dr Zelcer’s career has spanned academic, executive management, director, and management consulting roles, almost exclusively focused on life sciences and medical technologies. She has more than 20 years’ experience advising and assisting companies and research teams with strategic decision-making and risk management, governance, and strategic guidance for commercialisation, including capital raising from VC and angel investors. In her role as Commercialisation Adviser for the Federal Government’s Accelerating Commercialisation program, Elane has assisted more than 100 companies, university spin-outs and research teams to develop and refine their commercialisation and capital raising strategies.
