You are warmly invited to the launch of Professor Malcolm Macmillan's new book, "Snowy Campbell: Australian Pioneer Investigator of the Brain", to be published by Australian Scholarly Publishing with the support of the School of Psychological Sciences.
Professor Macmillan's book is a biography of Alfred Walter (Snowy) Campbell (1868-1937), who was a pioneering Australian neuropathologist. His study of the structures of cells and fibres in the whole human brain in relation to their functions made him the international authority on the subject. He also made a number of other important discoveries and contributions to the neurosciences, including the foundation of the Australian profession of neurology. Yet today, he and his work are barely known, even in Australia. Macmillan's book attempts to re-establish his position in the neurosciences.
Light refreshments will be served during the event.
