Description

Please join Women's Health Victoria for the launch of our newest issues paper Growing Up Unequal: How sex and gender impact young women's health and wellbeing.

Growing Up Unequal takes a comprehensive look at how sex and gender expectations impact health outcomes for young women, ultimately finding that the most effective way to reduce the risk of poor physical, emotional and mental health outcomes for women is to create a more equal society for girls to grow up in.

The paper will officially be launched by the Hon. Sonya Kilkenny MP. The paper's lead author, Dr Amy Webster, will present an overview of the paper, followed by presentations from panelists, and facilitated group discussion.

Panelists include:

  • Dr Deb Ollis, Associate Professor in Education at Deakin University

  • Lena (Asma) Mirzae and Meriam Abubeker, Shout Out Program, Centre for Multicultural Youth

Please RSVP by Friday 6 October.
