Late Night Library: A Cabaret about Gin
Musical Director, Jeremy Brennan, cabaret ladies, Maeve Marsden and Libby Wood, and The Ginstress, Elly Clough, have joined forces to create a cabaret about the history of gin. Equal parts hysterical and historical, this cabaret will stumble and soar through songs of love and mothers, gin and secrets, winding its way through 18th Century London, New York speakeasies, colonial India and the jungles of Peru, via sailors and fallen women, bootleggers and master distillers. Research and cabaret don’t always go hand-in-hand… What better place then, than Late Night Library, to join the team for a free work-in-progress performance of the tunes and stories they’ve unearthed in advance of the work’s 2016 premiere.
