Last Paradise Surfaid Fundraiser Event
Since its launch by Tim Winton in Perth, Last Paradise has packed out 60 Australian cinemas and now returns to Perth for a special Surfaid fundraiser at:
Fremantle Hoyts Millenium Cinema
Wednesday 16th November, 7pm
Screening includes inspirational Q&A with filmmaker Clive Neeson
LAST PARADISE is the story of how extreme adventure travel emerged from the antics of a few surfers and their eternal quest for adrenalin and paradise. Filmed over a lifetime by physicist/adventurer Clive Neeson and the original pioneers, the original footage was restored by Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings technical team who described it as “the most extraordinary footage we have ever seen.” This is no ordinary surf film.
In the remote wilderness, when necessity was the mother of invention, a maverick bunch of kids began experimenting with something that would change the world of adventure travel. In 45 years of stunning original footage we experience first-hand the innovators of extreme sports and join them on the roads less travelled in the 60's and 70's to discover just how the world used to be and the science of restoring it.
Filmmaker: physicist and surfer Clive Neeson
Cast: Allan Byrne (board shaper), AJ Hackett (bungee jumping pioneer) and other extreme sport pioneers.
