The River and the Homestead

The Murrumbidgee is one of Australia's most important and celebrated rivers and homesteads were established in close proximity to it. Join ACT Parks and Conservation Ranger, Southern Murrumbidgee Corridor, Bernie Brown and one of Lanyon Homestead’s knowledgeable guides for a short talk and walk to discover the role the Murrumbidgee River played in the establishment and industry of Lanyon Homestead and the current approach to river restoration. This event is in celebration of World Rivers Day.

After the walk enjoy lunch at the newly refurbished Barracks Espresso Bar and Eating House at Lanyon Homestead, there will be music from 12-2pm.

This program is part of the Spring Walk and Talk Series

Hear expert talks from guest curators and commentators exploring heritage, art and landscape. If you are a bit peckish treat yourself at our newly refurbished Barracks Espresso Bar and Eating House. The Barracks will be serving up breakfast, lunch and tasty treats from 10am while “Fiddling the Books” will get your toes tapping from 12–2pm.
