LAKE PEOPLE GATHERING with Adam Freeland (The Acid), Mojo Filter (UK), Dreems (Multi Culti), Uone (Beat & Path) & The Oddness Live (Beat & Path)

Music, Art, Interactive Performances & Rituals

Lake People aims to provide a source of inspiration for creative minds alike, combining a vast tapestry of beautiful deep house and other worldly music, live performances, art, sound healing, a channel for transformation. Building relationships and connections within our community and tribe, we hope to grow and share the talents we have both locally and offshore visitors.

We’ve moved the show to Shed 9 (Alumbra) for a new experience catering for both open air and indoor space with all bells and whistles to complement the art on offer.

Brought to you by a team of diverse and passionate event curators, music lovers and shamans, together, weeks of planning, preparation & love goes into the production for these gatherings. Each event we weave a new story, new artistic content curated to perfectly suit the music in focus. The last chapter we hosted the Bedouin and previous was Rampue, for our next installment we are so excited to welcome Adam Freeland and Mojo Filter to the ceremony.

Adam Freeland (The Acid)
https://soundcloud.com/adamfreeland
Harking from Brighton, U.K, Adam Freeland has been a name synonymous with feverish breaks and basslines that have paraded themselves atop the highest rave peaks for an age. His growth as an artist, however, has been a tempered and sharpened blade that now cuts the cosmic fabric with a simplicity and precision of a man in his element.

Scoring Nobel Peace prize winners, Adam has embarked upon the vision quest that is The Acid. An electronic band that embodies the internal journey of music - quite the far-reaching polarity of his earlier dance music days.

Coupling these disciplines, Freeland brings the mind, body and moment together in harmonic phase injecting a wide-field intention thus enabling an alchemical transformation through dance. His rare and timeless sets are a priceless gem that radiates with the force of all the elements in their constitution. So bring your mindspace and fill it with the potion of motion as we depart upon sound waves of mystery and wonder.

Mojo Filter (UK)
https://soundcloud.com/thebenz

Master of interplanetary craft, Mojo navigates the ages of psychedelic music with a supernatural use of samples and suggestion. Changing pace and time period from then to now into the future, Crane is a Dr Who on the decks weaving a forward thinking tapestry that comes to life when the stars align.

Utilising mystical vocals, curious instrumentation and otherworldly harmonics, Mojo Filter evokes a kaleidoscope of dance curiosities that stimulate the third-eye into activation. Very much a toroidal feedback system these escapades are never rehearsed and rely on the magic of the moment to catalyse their deeper purpose.

Dreems (Multi Culti)
https://soundcloud.com/dreemsdreems

Multi Culti music label co creator. Cosmic Sherpa. Liberator of Tantric Avatars. Sonic Skipper. Australian (Sydney)

Dreems's DJ sets are a testament to his knowledge of distant worlds and music, taking you on a mushroom-picking vibe-about beyond all borders, whirling in a primordial soup of innovation. Sometimes he will make you want to dance and other times he will make you want to lie down and make love. He can even make you think you have taken drugs when you have indeed not…. drug-takers, however, should approach him with caution, he’ll suck you in and spit you out with your reality tunnel open a little wider than it was before.

"I am on a mission, a quest to free you from the divisive shackles of flags and tongues," says Dreems. "Whatever your culture, sex, or species, there is a place in your heart for light, sound, and dance, and that is where I will make my home.”

Uone (Beat & Path, Katermukke)
https://soundcloud.com/uone

The Drum, carries a message, a thought that echoes through the crowd. The house gathers around the animals and the clowns, they sway and shake. They praise the rhythm, the space, the song. Sweet harmony rattles the bigtop above, melody reminds you, to never, ever mind. Low frequencies erase thought, erase ego, erase reason. Play, make like you can juggle, tame the lions, and walk the wire. This is music to forget to, and a space to remember. Roll up, roll up.

The Oddness (Beat & Path)
https://soundcloud.com/theoddness

The Oddness is the new project of Melbourne producer and head of Smash Bang records, Fergus.
The sound of The Oddness is a culmination of years of varying tastes and production styles, taking influence from Instrumental Hip Hop, Dub & World music and blending these influences into the longer, slow burning structures of deep/progressive house.
The live set is full of improvisation and can go anywhere from laidback and melancholy through to a chunky, driving gut punch.
