We invite you to attend Lake Mac GLAM.

Thursday 15 July to Friday 16 July

On the shores of Lake Macquarie, NSW

We are excited to be spearheading the return of face to face learning and networking for GLAM sector practitioners, change agents and volunteers working within Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums!

Lake Mac GLAM is designed to leave you informed, inspired and equipped to integrate new innovations into your current programming.

The Keynote Speaker is Dr Terri Janke, who will speak to First Nations: A Roadmap for Enhancing Indigenous Engagement in Museums and Galleries. This address will include a discussion on how regional organisations (including local councils) can build trust, bridge gaps and ensure authenticity in arts and cultural programming.

Other program highlights will be delivered by industry-leading speakers from a diverse range of institutions and backgrounds from

  • Sydney Living Museums
  • City of Melbourne Libraries
  • Accessible Arts
  • The University of Newcastle
  • The University of Technology Sydney (UTS)

Attendees will also be treated to an exclusive look at Lake Macquarie's newest cultural facility, the Multi-Arts Place mima (MAP) as well as a private reception and curator talk at the Museum of Art and Culture yapang (MAC).

Ticketing For Professionals and Volunteers and Students

2-Day Pass - Thursday 15 and Friday 16 July includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and all presentations on both days + Private Tour, Curator Talk and Drinks and Nibbles at MAC yapang. Price includes 10% discount for attending both days.

1 Day Pass - Thursday 15 July includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and all presentations on the day + Private Tour, Curator Talk and Drinks and Nibbles at MAC yapang.

1 Day Pass - Friday 16 July includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and all presentations on the day.

Workshops need to be booked in addition to the tickets above.

Bursaries

Lake Macquarie City Council is also offering a number of bursaries to cover the cost of conference registration for unwaged or low-waged individuals at Lake Mac GLAM 2021.

Included categories are:

  • students and new graduates (graduating within the past 18 months
  • casual or temporary workers
  • volunteers

To apply for the bursary, please email mwilson@lakemac.nsw.gov.au and include:

  • Applicant Name
  • The category you fall under
  • How attending Lake Mac GLAM would benefit you (max. 200 words)

Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to the conference by either presenting a short talk (3-5 minutes) or publishing a blog post/report about their experience post-conference.
