Event description
Kurangk Listening is an off-site, outdoors public program

About this event

***PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO NOVEMBER 6***

Kurangk Listening is an off-site, outdoors public program of embodied activities on land and water.

As the final outflow of the Murray-Darling river system and the traditional land of the Ngarrindjeri people, the Kurangk (Coorong) is a site of great cultural, spiritual and ecological significance.

Participants will take part in a guided forage of Basham’s Beach at Goolwa with artist Chris de Rosa and scientist Chloe Darkson, followed by a kayaking tour on the Coorong from Sugars Beach to the Murray River Mouth, led by Canoe the Coorong’s Brenton Carle and artist Brad Darkson.

Through the shared acts of collective walking, talking, listening, looking, gathering, drawing and paddling together, participants will develop an enhanced appreciation and respect for this land and its waters.

Kurangk Listening will take place the weekend before the opening of WATER RITES exhibition, part of the TARNANTHI Festival, at ACE Open.

Participants will receive an updated schedule breakdown ahead of the event.
