Event description
Bring your children along for the City of Logan's free Koala Kids Workshop at Chambers Flat.

About this event

The City of Logan's Koala Kids Workshop (for children five to 12 years) is a fun-packed interactive workshop where children will learn all about koalas and how they can help them to live more safely.

This is an interactive session that children (and their parents) will thoroughly enjoy. The presentation will conclude with a fun arts-craft activity.

Registration via Eventbrite is required for all persons attending, both children and parents/guardians. Parental/guardian supervision is mandatory.

Check-in opens at 9.45am and the workshop begins at 10am.

Please ensure you bring your own water bottle and snacks, if required.

This event supports Logan City Council's Koala Conservation Strategic Plan 2013-2023 and Council's Priority Species Awareness Campaign.

Koalas in Logan

Did you know in Queensland, koalas weigh between 5-10kg and have short pale grey fur?

The size, color and shape of koalas differs slightly across eastern Australia. Koalas in Queensland are smaller, lighter in color and have less fur than those in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

Koalas are difficult to see. If you go searching for koalas in Logan, look for these signs that show a koala might be in the area: scratch marks on trees (these may also be from goannas or possums) and koala scats (poo) around the base of trees (They are bullet-shaped and smell of eucalyptus if they are fresh).

Daisy Hill Forest Reserve is one of the best places to spot koalas in the wild but you can find koalas in many parks across the City of Logan.
