Event description

Description

What type of person are you? Are you Sattvic (pure, peaceful, reflective), Rajasic (busy, busy, busy) or Tamasic (lazy, lethargic, a procrastinator)?

The Personality Chart is one of the greatest contributions of the Bhagavad Gita. It explains how each one of us is made up of 3 mental temperaments—sattva, rajas and tamas. Tamas is a state of mind stepped in inertia, indolence and indifference. Rajas is a state of vacillating emotion and passionate activity. While Sattva is a poised, serene and equanimous state of mind.

These temperaments combined in different proportions account for the variety of individuals in the world. Our mission is life is to rise from tamas, to rajas, to sattva and reach the state of Enlightenment.

The class is conducted by Meredith Forder—a graduate of the Vedanta Academy in India and senior student of world-renowned spiritual master Swami Parthasarathy.
