Local koalas like local eucalypts, but don’t eat all varieties. How do they tell the difference?
About this event
Eucalypts might all look much the same, but this short ‘walk-shop’ will explain how to tell them apart. It will use a simple key to introduce you to the four main groups of local species and give you the tools to learn more.
Learn to recognise some koala food species and take away some eucalypt trivia to help you love these iconic trees even more.
Participants are invited to bring images of a local ‘gumtree’ - please include the whole tree, bark or trunk, foliage and flowers - and we’ll try to give it a name.
The walk is suitable for adults and will include walking on both paved and gravel surfaces in the natural bush setting of the Botanic Gardens. Please dress for a walk outdoors.
